Open Science Conference in Berlin - registration open

The Open Science Conference 2018 will take place on 13 and 14 March in Berlin. The conference is hosted by the ZBW – Leibniz Information Centre for Economics and the Leibniz Research Alliance Science 2.0. ZB MED - Information Centre for Life Sciences is member of the Research Alliance and participates in the conference.

The Open Science Conference 2018 is the 5th international conference of the Leibniz Research Alliance Science 2.0. It is dedicated to the Open Science movement and provides a unique forum where researchers, librarians, practitioners, politicians, and other important stakeholders can discuss and exchange their ideas and experiences.

The Open Science movement focuses on the development of the European Open Science Cloud and on research data management in general. Because the FAIR data principles, i.e. findable, accessible, interoperable and reusable research data, have recently gained importance, the thematic focus of this year’s conference will be on FAIR principles of research data and supporting research data infrastructures.

Invited as well as selected talks, hands-on reports and a panel discussion will cover both the view of research data infrastructures and the view of the scientific communities. There are also accepted 21 submissions to the “Call for Project Presentations” to be presented in an interactive format at the conference.

The Barcamp Open Science is going to take place on March 12th in Berlin. It is conducted as a pre-event one day before the Open Science Conference. Traditionally the Barcamp tries to align the thematic focus with the following Conference. It is open to everybody interested in discussing, learning more about, and sharing experiences on practices in Open Science.
