“Key Concepts in Health Promotion and Prevention” published as a Living Handbook

BIÖG’s established standard reference work is published as a dynamic open-access resource (in German)

ZB MED is publishing the glossary of concepts, strategies and methods produced by the Federal Institute of Public Health (BIÖG) on the PUBLISSO publication platform. This provides the standard reference work, established in 1996, with a modern publishing environment in which the content can be continuously updated and kept accessible in the long term.

The glossary offers scientifically sound guidance for professional practice, academia, higher education and health policy decision-making processes. The new edition also marks the 30th anniversary of the Key Terms.

The Living Handbook format enables:

  • free access and reuse via Open Access
  • versioning of individual entries
  • improved discoverability through structured metadata
  • permanent citability
