Involvement in global librarianship in an international network.

The International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) represents the interests of libraries and information institutions worldwide. There are several sections within IFLA. Libraries and information centres that support science and research cooperate in the Academic and Research Libraries Section (ARL). This also includes ZB MED.

At this year's election, Prof. Dr. Ursula Arning was appointed to the ARL Section Standing Committee for the second time. The committee is composed of 26 members; institutions from all over the world are represented. Prof. Arning is head of Open Science at ZB MED and holds a professorship for Open Access and Management of Digital Resources at the TH Köln.
