Interprofessional education, training, and continuing education in the health, social, and medical professions have evolved both substantively and structurally in recent years. New teaching and learning formats, digital and hybrid approaches, simulation- and team-based training, as well as technology-supported applications such as AR/VR have emerged, none of which have been systematically compiled to date. At the same time, the evidence base, regulatory frameworks, and
educational policy requirements have changed and become more complex.

Against this backdrop, the GMS Journal for Medical Education (GMS JME) invites the submission of articles for a thematically focused special issue.
